Cancer of the Penis

This had to be resected surgically because of the cancer on the end.

In the first picture, you can see the pale, irregular skin bearing the cancer on the right. The deep structures are bent towards the top, and the more healthy regions of the shaft are at the left..

Microscpically, this is a moderately well differentiated squamous cell carcinoma, with good intercellular bridges.

Thankfully, this is preventable. A man can use barrier protection to avoid HPV infection. Even if he is infected, he can keep an eye on any early lesions and have them removed while they're still small.
