The Plane of Vacuum

What Sea do You throw me in,
My Beloved One--
A Sea of emptiness
But through this Veil
Filled with all
Your Deep Secret Love

I accept this place.
To swim quietly here
Inside
To wait patiently
For the Time and Place
That's ripe for me

The Quasi-elemental plane of Vacuum is wasteland universe with no matter, where beings of strange energy do stranger things. Some say the creatures are of pure thought, and that visitors may bring them back as unwanted thoughts. The Doomguard "Portal of the Last Breath" is at the border with the negative energy plane, where "nothing" and "death" meet. Without "vacuum protection" or "negative protection", visitors explode immediately. There isn't any air here, and visitors can't cast "airy". There is nothing to breathe, so if visitors plan to stay longer than they can hold their breath, each will need "adaptation" or "polymorph self". All fires burn out in one round or less. Anything that is created by magic here will vanish in one round. "Feather fall" doesn't work here, since feathers fall like stones in a vacuum. No one can speak, and visitors will need a "vocalize" spell to cast any magics with a verbal component. The touch of your bare hand does 1d6 damage to any vacuum creature. Clerical "create (element)" or "gust of wind" does 1d6 point of damage per level to creatures in a 20' radius (saving throw applies). Elemental servants from this plane excel at missions in outer space.

The Ministry of Elemental Good -- Vacuum Ministers

Mystics of the Judeo-Christian-Islamic tradition often speak of "the void", resisting description but reminding us forcefully that the world in which we live is not permanent and not of ultimate worth.

Vacuum ministers remind people of the ultimate impermanence and meaningless of most things, and that only love and kindness are durable. These ministers may be discovered as chaplains on spelljamming crafts, or in space stations. They get a free proficiency in blind fighting.
