European Chess With Checks

If you had a Java-capable browser, you could play European Chess With Checks here.

European Chess with an obligation, which is not standard in the rules for real-people, tabletop play, to avoid check when possible.

Check must be avoided on the move even if using a special ability after the move (for example, Spain placing a pawn next to the king, Belgium calling in a treaty obligation, the Dutch swapping identities, or Atlantis sinking a square) would prevent the king from being captured.
