Dislocated Knee -- 4 hours

This is a picture of me 4 hours after I dislocated my left knee. Note the difference in size between the legs due to the swelling. The knee had been hyperextended to about 70-75 degrees, secondary to a surfing injury. The ER doctor took x-rays of the leg. When the films came back negative, he sent me home with ibuprofen and crutches; I was to return to the orthopedic clinic in three days. Click the next picture to see what transpired over the next 14 hours.
