This is a myocardial infarct infiltrated by neutrophils.

Home This infarct is transmural. Notice the dead cardiac muscle due to ischemia. The ischemic necrosis involves the entire wall thickness. The inflammatory process is acute as opposed to chronic where you will see more lymphocytes.
